Wilma Dean Carrier

Wilma Dean Carrier, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 10, 2023.  She was born on July 18, 1931, in Madison, West Virginia to the late John and Emma (Mullett) Chapman.  Wilma was a member of Post Road Christian church and the women’s auxiliary club.

Wilma loved to volunteer; she spent over twenty years volunteering time at Community Hospital East. She also volunteered at Camp Allendale. She looked forward to spending time over the summer back home on Big Ugly where she grew up. She loved to shop!

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Carrier; her parents, mentioned above; and son-in-law, Charles Hatcher.

Wilma is survived by her children, Charlotte Glass (Jerry), Donna Hatcher, Ricky Carrier, and Tammy Parrish (Ray); along with 7 grandchildren, Dwain Glass, Jeremy Hatcher, Carrie Glass, Scott Hatcher, Amanda Carrier, Michael Hatcher, and Brittney Garner; 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Road, Indianapolis, with a service to start at 1pm.  Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.  Funeral Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
