William Whitley, affectionately known to many as Bill, passed away peacefully at home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 11, 1962, in Indianapolis, Bill lived a life filled with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Angie Ragland Whitley of 45years. Bill was a pillar of strength and support for his family. He took immense pride in his two children, Amanda Whitley and Bill (Haley) Whitley, and his affection extended to his six cherished grandchildren: Domineack and Daylan Sedam, Kayden, Austin, Emme, and Ophelia Whitley. His heart was always open to his family, which included his two sisters, Linda Whitley and Verna (Butch) Scott, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bill was a kind-hearted soul whose strong values made him a role model for those around him. He was known for his eagerness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, regardless of the circumstance. His spirit of generosity touched the lives of many, creating a legacy of compassion that will resonate long after his passing.
Throughout his life, Bill cherished experiences that brought joy to him and those around him. Whether he was watching NASCAR or the Indianapolis 500, participating in outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, or enjoying simple pleasures like playing pool, corn hole, and cards, Bill embraced life to the fullest. Music held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed attending concerts that brought him happiness.
Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, Thelma & Rusty Sanders, and siblings; Kenny Robinson, Shirley Price, Phyliss Anderson, Susie Montgomery, Gail Acton, Patty Burchfield, Tom Whitley, Harold Whitley, and Kenny Whitley.
On May 13, 2025, friends and family will gather to celebrate Bill’s life during a visitation from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Both events will take place at 1604 W Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
Bill's warmth and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, passion for life, and love for his family will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived.
