William Dean Rice, lovingly known as “Deano,” entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2025, at the age of 54.
Born on September 25, 1970, Dean was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. He was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone—genuine, kind, and always ready to lend a hand. He had a playful, silly spirit and a love for music that was often expressed through humming his favorite tunes.
Dean was deeply creative and intuitive. He found joy in drawing, tattooing, and creating cartoons. His hands were rarely still—he could fix just about anything and took pride in making something out of nothing. He was a collector at heart and lived a simple, content life. He didn’t need fancy things to be happy—he simply made the best of what he had and always had fun doing it.
In his younger years, Dean enjoyed fishing and camping, and he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He took a sincere interest in their lives, their passions, and made them feel seen and supported.
Dean graduated from Madison Heights High School with the Class of 1989, where he was known for his intelligence and quick wit—ranking among the top of his class. He later worked at Mofab and in landscaping, always applying his strong work ethic and creative talents.
Dean is survived by his siblings: Dawn Daniels, Danielle (Luis Flores) Reyna, Justin Rice, Andrea Rice, and Addie Rice. He was a beloved uncle to Adrian, Angelica, Jasmin, Javi, Ana, Gisselle, Justin Jr., Alizabeth, Draiman, Izzy, Jose, Liam, and Mahalah; and a great-uncle to Adalynn, Emma, Novah, Paisley, Jaziah, Noelle, and Amelia; also survived by step-mother and step-father Deborah Rice and Timothy Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Rice and Judy Monroe; his brother, Mark Anthony Rice; his grandparents, Norman and Addie Rice and Lavonn and Noah Goen; and nephews Christian, Trent and Ezra.
Dean will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind spirit, creative soul, and warm heart will live on in the memories of those he loved.
