William “Bill” D. Cunningham, 76, passed away on December 19th, 2023 in his home in Anderson, IN.

William, known affectionately by his loved ones as Bill, was born in Anderson, IN to Hattie and Arthur Cunningham on May 28th, 1947. He went to school at Anderson High School. In 1967, he joined the U.S. Army and dedicated 3 years of his life to the service of his country, specializing in radio repair.

During the time Bill worked at General Motors, he spearheaded a project to teach children about the electric vehicles he worked on, the EV1 and The Impact. He also spent time as an interpreter for the Deaf, and as an insurance agent for Howard Webb. His retirement years were devoted to spending time with his loved ones, traveling, building his personal archive of music and movies, and “treasure hunting” at antique malls and festivals.

Bill had a lifelong love for nature, photography, music, and travel. He also enjoyed fishing, football, and painting. He was devoted to his family, enriching their lives deeply with his enthusiastic encouragement, steady wisdom, and unconditional love. He saw life as an adventure, and he spread joy and positivity wherever he went. Of the incredible life he lived, he said, “I can’t look back at any of it and not smile.”

Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Cunningham; his parents, Hattie and Arthur Cunningham; and his daughter-in-law, Dana Cunningham.

Bill’s legacy lives on in his surviving family members: son Jason Cunningham; stepdaughter Melanie Beach; former spouses Linda Watson and Deborah Iaria; siblings David, Deborah “Debbie”, and Charles “Greg” Cunningham; grandchildren Dalanie Beach (Frenci Nguyen), Myranda (Corey) Chrysalis, Devin, Makenna, and Damaris Beach, Gabrielle Medina, Eric Day, and great-grandchildren: Madison Bales, Delilah and Sophia Beach.
