William "Joe" Ayers

Passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on August 20th, 2025. He was born on September 23rd, 1949, in Kennett, Missouri. He is proceeded in death by his parents William Leonard and Betty (Hendrix) Ayers a brother Ronnie, cherished wife, Marla Jo Ayers, and daughter Megan Ayers, whose memory he carried with him every day. Joe, a beloved father of five children to Melanie Ayers, William Robert (Robbie) Ayers, Jaron Joseph Ayers (Krista Gregg), and Jordan Joseph Ayers (Savannah Ayers); as well as three stepchildren Ryan Hoskins, Jason Hoskins, and Daman Yokley.

A cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to Ciarra Ayers Hagan (Jonathan Hagan), William Clayton Ayers (Katie Ayers), and Zayne Joseph Ayers, Kinsley, Bentley, Riley, Jaxon, Jarrett, Greyclyn, Maverick, to a large, joyful family that he held together with quiet strength and unwavering love.

Known by all as the glue of the family, Joe was a source of warmth, guidance, and laughter. He had a special way of bringing people together. His love for life and family was matched only by his ability to light up every room he entered. Joe was the light in everyone’s life—steady, kind, and will be deeply missed.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we had and the legacy of love he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in every shared story, every family moment, and every wave that rocks a boat gently across the water.
