Born on November 12, 1956, in Indianapolis, Wilbur's life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and an unwavering love for those around him.

Throughout his life, Wilbur was a "jack of all trades," with a remarkable talent for fixing just about anything, though he especially loved working on cars. His mechanical expertise was matched only by his generous heart; he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Wilbur's outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger, yet he maintained a quiet privacy, keeping his cards close to his vest. He treasured family time and was a compassionate listener, always attentive when loved ones needed support. Holidays and celebrations held special meaning for Wilbur, who delighted in gathering with family and friends to create lasting memories.

Wilbur had a particular fondness for good food. He savored his daughter's home cooking above all, yet enjoyed exploring the diverse offerings of various restaurants, appreciating all types of cuisine. His passion for basketball brought him joy as well. He loved watching the Indiana Pacers on television. However, one of Wilbur's fondest basketball memories was when his nephew took him to Gainbridge Field House to see the Pacers in person — moments that reflected his love for sports and family bonding.

The proudest accomplishment of Wilbur’s life was the family he raised, a legacy that speaks to his commitment and love. He is survived by his son Wesley Williams, daughter Rachelle Williams-Clay, sons Wilbur Williams, Jr. and Wesley Causey, and his brother Avanna Williams. While Wilbur’s passing brings deep sorrow, his memory lives on through the lives he touched and the family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Queen Esther Bates, Beverly Gertrude Williams, Amy Williams, Yvonne Williams, and Queentella Williams, along with his brothers Ollie Williams, Jr. and Sonny Williams.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Wilbur Williams’ life during a visitation held on May 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services located at 1604 W Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Following will be the funeral service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the same location, with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, located at 700 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
