Violet (Armstrong) Roland

Violet (Armstrong) Roland, age 85, of Daleville, passed away on May 1, 2023, at The Waters of Chesterfield. She was born on March 27, 1938, in Gary, Indiana to the late Nick and Julia (Smith) Trkula.

Violet worked as a dedicated LPN for St. Johns Hospital for many years before retiring. She was a true caretaker in every sense of the word. She was family oriented and always made sure her family never went without. She was a sweet woman who never had an enemy. She was simple, loving to be at home and surrounded by her loved ones. She had a sweet tooth though and never passed up dessert. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Violet is survived by her children Robert Armstrong (Bonnie), Vickie Armstrong, Anthony “Tony” Armstrong, and Phillip Armstrong (Robin); grandchildren Mitchell and Gabe Armstrong, Jason Scofield, Casey Woodruff (Ian), Cole and Christopher Armstrong, Nathan Purciful; great-grandchildren Mercedes Armstrong, Blake Woodruff, Charlee Woodruff and “Little” Johnny Woodruff whom she had a special bond with; sibling Walter Trkula (Sharon); and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, siblings Donna Green and Nick Trkula, child Nicky, and spouses Robert Armstrong and John Roland.
