Obituary for Vernon “Gene” Bartlett

(Vernon) Gene Bartlett, 93, born 12/21/28 in Bedford, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 6, 2022, in Indianapolis.  He lived a full life, worked hard and loved his family.  He worked in the automobile sales industry for many years and served his community through the Moose Lodge #17, where he was a member for over 50 years. You could find him there organizing golf outings, hold ‘em and euchre games.  He enjoyed golfing, camping, traveling and the occasional trip to the casino.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Buses) Bartlett, and a host of children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Services are being held, Monday Oct 17 at Legacy Funeral home at 5200 N. Shadeland Ave.  Calling is at 11:00 a.m. and Services will be held at noon, followed by internment at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moose Foundation (for scholarships) 155 S. International Dr., Mooseheart, Il, 60539 or your favorite charity.
