Susan Renee Kinley

Susan Renee Kinley, age 62, currently residing in Kokomo, IN, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2022. She was born on January 22, 1960, to Danny St. Clair (Shirley) and Claris Johns.

Susan was a graduate of Madison Heights High School, Class of 1978. After high school she followed her sweetheart to Michigan where they started their family. After having her daughter Andrea, Susan started a support group for parents with children that had medical difficulties called CAPS where they welcomed parents and children of all ages to come together to form a community.

Susan worked for Bona Vista as a Developmental Liaison. During her time there, she was an active member in running the company’s biggest fundraiser “The Greatest Spectacle in Tasting.” This job was a true testament in how dedicated and driven Susan was.

Susan’s family and friends describe her as passionate, sweet, and giving. She was always fighting for the underdog or those less fortunate. She had a heart of gold and was truly her happiest self when she was helping others. Her children and grandchildren were her entire world. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jim Kinley; children Jennifer Atherton (Lee), Andrea Rood (Jeremiah), and Austin Kinley (Coltrin); grandchildren Taylor Atherton, Tara Atherton, Claira Rood, Charli Rood, Camden Rood, and Rylynn Kinley; siblings Pam Richardson (Ron) and Danell Witmer (Jim); stepsiblings Terri Hensley, Lisa Lantz (David Fletcher), Karla Bailey (Brent Huffman), and Jim Keithley (Whitney); father Danny St. Clair (Shirley) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother Claris Johns and grandparents Paul and Mildred St. Clair.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Bona Vista Kokomo, IN.

A visitation will be held on Monday July 11, 2022, from 4-7pm and Tuesday July 12, 2022 from 10-11am with a funeral service following at 11am at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
