Susan “Sue” Jeanette Jackson, 77, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. She made her home in both Indianapolis, Indiana, and Bloomington, Illinois, where she built a life filled with love, purpose, and deep connection.
Susan was the mother of four children — Tami Primmer and her husband Lee, Nicholas Jackson and his wife Dawn, Bryan Jackson, and Christopher Jackson. She was also a proud grandmother to Derek, Nicholas and his wife Monica, Cailee, Natalie and Annyka, and a great-grandmother to Erica, Madisyn, DJ, Wyatt and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father Jeanette and Walter Gang and her sister, Judy Stearns; Susan’s brother-in-law, Randy, survives her.
Throughout her career, Susan worked in various sales and marketing roles, with her primary professional passion within the mortgage loan origination industry. She was compassionate and understanding of others, that left an impactful effect. She had a strong desire for building relationships and genuinely cared for people that left a lasting impact on all who knew and worked with her.
Susan’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. She loved going to various park outings with her children, cooking meals that brought everyone together and sharing laughter over cards and board games. She enjoyed arts and music, and she especially treasured building puzzles, capturing moments through photography, and creating memory photo albums that her family will forever cherish.
Before her battle with Parkinson's and Dementia, Susan attended East 91st Christian Church and was a member of Northview Christian Church. Though we will miss her dearly, her family finds comfort in knowing she was welcomed into heaven by our loving Heavenly Father.
For those who loved her, this is a time to celebrate a life well lived. A visitation honoring Susan will be held on December 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services, 5215 Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46226.
As we remember and embrace her memory, we hold close the words of 2 Corinthians 5:8–10:
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
