Steven Duane Harker, 45, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on June 22nd, 2025, in his hometown where he was born and raised.
Born in Muncie on February 10th, 1980, Steven was the beloved son of George and Thelma Harker. He graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1999 and went on to build a life grounded in love, dedication, and quiet strength. On December 3, 1999, he married the love of his life, Mickie—a partnership marked by deep devotion, shared laughter, and unwavering support.
Steven worked as an engineer at Magna Powertrain in Muncie, where his intelligence, motivation, and precision earned him not only the respect of his coworkers but also an Iron Man award in recognition of his hard work.
Outside of work, Steven lived a full and vibrant life. He loved fishing, bowling, playing pool, and golf—activities that were more than just hobbies; they were passions he pursued with skill and heart. He had a collection of trophies and awards from these interests, including a perfect 300 bowling game, pool tournament victories, and fishing awards. Building a 1978 Malibu with his son was one of his proudest and most meaningful accomplishments.
Steven loved spending time with his grandson, Wyatt. Whether they were outdoors, sharing a laugh, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Steven treasured those moments most. He was a gentle soul—laid back, and kind-hearted.
Steven is survived by his wife, Mickie Harker; his son, Larry Harker; his daughter-in-law, Kacie Harker; and his cherished grandson, Wyatt Duane Harker. He is also survived by his parents, George and Thelma Harker; his siblings, Angie Parrott (Harrison), George Harker, and Charles Harker; and many beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Louise Harker, Alice Smithers, and Woody Willis.
Steven will be missed more than words can say. As we grieve, we also celebrate a life lived with quiet excellence, strength, and love. We honor his memory by living fully—just as he always did.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th at Legacy Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Steven are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
