Shirley Jean Patterson

Shirley Jean Patterson, 76, of Anderson Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving husband by her side on September 5th, 2023 after an extended illness.

Shirley was born on November 7, 1946, in Chattoroy, West Virginia. She attended Anderson High School and worked for Anderson Community Schools cafeteria. Throughout her life, Shirley displayed characteristics of compassion, dedication, and hard work. These qualities formed the foundation of who she was as a person and made a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Shirley's true passion in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Her love knew no bounds and she consistently placed the needs of others above her own. Shirley's nurturing spirit brought immeasurable joy to her loved ones' lives. Her presence will be deeply missed by all, especially by her family.

Surviving Shirley is her beloved husband of 33 years, Steven Patterson. Steven stood by Shirley's side with unwavering support throughout their marriage and provided comfort during the most challenging times. Their love was a testament to the strength of their commitment.

Shirley is also survived by her daughter Kellie Majors and son Brian Beeson.

Additionally, Shirley leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Courtney (Stephen) Parker and Tyler Humphrey; great-granddaughters Brenna and Macyn; great-grandsons Gavin and Kamden. Also Shirley's brother-in-law Jeff (Jama) Patterson, Shirley's nieces and nephews, one brother, as well as extended family members, will forever cherish the moments they spent with her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Jodie Grimes, sons-in-law Jeff Grimes and Michael Majors, brother-in-law Michael Patterson, and sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Jerry. Though Shirley's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those she left behind, her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched.
