Sergio David Kubicek

Sergio David Kubicek, 26, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 26, 2023.  He was born in Chiquimulilla, Guatemala on June 2, 1997.  Sergio graduated from Indiana Virtual High School in Indianapolis.  He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Specialist during the war in Iraq.  Sergio was a security guard for Securitas.

Sergio loved being a soldier.  When they were young, he and his best friend, Dakota Bowen, used to play soldier until eventually, they signed up with the U. S. Army and served our country with honor.  He loved blues music and making “beats” with AB.  The love of his life was his dog, Iris.

Sergio was raised by a village of people.  From his birth mother, Irma in Guatemala, to his adoptive parents, Keith and Katherine (Bossemeyer) Kubicek of Batesville, IN who brought him to America and finally his aunt and uncle who he called Mom and Pops, Mark and Anne (Bossemeyer) Billman of Indianapolis, IN.  His brother, Quinn Stevenson of Indianapolis, IN who was a big influence in his life.  His honorary grandparents were Sandy Roberts and Bruce Roberts (Bruce is now deceased).  His loving Aunt Janet Mazerolle and Uncle Bill Crowe of Noblesville, IN.  His cousins Jordan Mazerolle of Austin, TX and Michael Mazerolle of Noblesville, IN.  Aaron (“AB”) and Alicia Bowen and their children including Dakota and Ashley Bowen and their children were Sergio’s second family.  Along with many extended family members and friends.  All of these people enriched Sergio’s life.

There will be a graveside service at 1pm, on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Crown Hill National Cemetery, 725 W. 42^nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.  Cremation Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a military charity like Wounded Warriors, Stop Soldier Suicide, or any of your choice.
