Sarah Buckner, a beloved wife and mother, passed away on October 14, 2024 at Community Hospital Anderson after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Feb 21, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana. 

Sarah was a proud graduate of Madison Heights High School and worked in different fields through out her life. Sarah was known for her caring nature and unique personality, earning her the title of a wonderful mother and wife. Her passion for needle work and sewing was evident in the countless handcrafted gifts she created for her family, each piece imbued with her love and dedication. She found joy in working in her yard, engaging in the beauty of nature. Holidays held a special place in her heart, and she relished the opportunity to decorate for them, bringing warmth and joy to her family's celebrations. Sarah also loved going thrifting and shopping with her family, finding treasures that would often become cherished memories.

Sarah is survived be her husband of 50 years, Jerry Buckner; sons Jerry Buckner Jr. (Lindsay), James Buckner (Lindsey), and Christopher Buckner; grandsons Preston and Calvin; great-grandson Christopher; several nieces and nephews; brothers Ed Jr., Leroy, Louie, and Larry Detienne; brother-in-law Johnny "Elvis" Buckner; sisters- in- law Joyce Morris and Janice Harlan; fur babies Foxy Lady and Indy Ana; and many other friends and family. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Sarah Detienne; mother and father-in-law; 2 sisters- in- law; sisters Leann Dishman, Shirley Drake, Sharon Holcomb, Sondra Detienne; and fur babies Missy, Puppy, and Jo Boo. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday October 18, 2024, at 1pm at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.  

Her spirit and creativity touched those around her, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Sarah Buckner will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life and the love she so freely gave.
