Sandra Jean Thomas

Sandra Jean Thomas, born on September 27, 1946, passed away on August 20, 2025. Known affectionately as Sandy, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories with family and friends.

She loved going out to eat and camping with friends and family. Sandra was also deeply committed to her community, dedicating her time to volunteer in after-school activities. Her long career in the school cafeteria made a lasting impact on many young lives. Playing bingo was another cherished pastime for Sandra. At her assisted living facility, she developed wonderful friendships through playing BINGO and social gatherings. She especially cherished outings with her dearest friend, Ms. Jamison.

Family time was everything to Sandy. She loved spending time in the back yard with her sister, sharing old family memories, and making new memories with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother.

Sandra is reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Bill Thomas; and devoted parents, Theodore and Opal Nispel. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mike (Lori); daughter, Michelle Kuciejczyk; brother, Randy Nispel; sister, Teressa Dehaven; grandchildren, Billy, Alan, Megan, Justin, and cherished great grandchildren.

Services in her honor will be held at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services—Lawrence at a later date with friends and family welcome to gather for a visitation prior. Please check back for posted times. Sandy will be remembered for her generosity, love for life, and social personality. Just as she loved sharing old memories with family and friends, Sandy would encourage her loved ones to remember the good times.
