In Loving Memory of Ruth Ellen Kimmerling

Ruth Ellen Kimmerling, born on October 23, 1947, to Carl and Mildred Dukes in Anderson, Indiana, peacefully departed from this world on January 21, 2024. A kind and resilient soul, Ruth's unwavering kindness remained a guiding light throughout her life.

In her earlier years, Ruth excelled as a master cosmetologist. Her skills and warmth drew people to her, creating cherished memories for those who experienced her artistry. She was an exceptional and affectionate mother, dedicated to raising her two children. Her resilient and independent spirit not only defined her character but also shined through the lives of her children.

Beyond her professional talents, Ruth found joy in quilting, sewing, and participating in craft clubs. A true fixer, she extended her helping hand not only in fixing things but also mending relationships. Before her illness, Ruth attended Park Place Church of God, where she found fulfillment in helping with Vacation Bible School.

Ruth's heart was also home to her beloved chihuahuas, Amy and Emily, who provided her with unwavering companionship. She shared a beautiful journey of 39.5 years with her loving husband, James Kimmerling. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Renee Hexamer Schnur, and son-in-law Gary, as well as her cherished grandson, Aaron Schnur. She leaves behind her sister, Linda Killgore, and several nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Ruth Ellen Kimmerling was preceded in death by her son, Peter Paul Hexamer, her parents, Carl and Mildred Dukes, brothers Gene and David, and sisters Judy and Mary. While she may no longer be with us in person, Ruth's legacy of kindness, resilience, and generosity will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
