Ronald Farley Swallows, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2026. He was born on January 30, 1971, in Anderson, Indiana, to Menzo and Della (Webb) Swallows.
Ron was a true family man whose greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. They were his world, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. He cherished big family gatherings, cookouts, and holidays, where laughter, food, and togetherness filled the air.
In his free time, Ron enjoyed playing cards—especially poker—and was known for his love of the casino. He also loved the outdoors, particularly camping and fishing, and he was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley.
Ron began working in construction at the young age of nine alongside his father. Together, they built a family construction business, Menzo and Sons. Ron continued to work in construction throughout his life.
Ron is survived by his former wife and best friend, Tina Swallows; Children, Christina (PJ), Carisma Welker, and William Caleb Bair; grandchildren, Emma, Natalie, Karson, and Jaxon; brother, Elliott (Tina) Swallows, and their children: Elliott Swallows Jr., Randall Swallows, Nicole Frazier, Charlie Moreland, and Mike Stuart; brother, Randy (Jamie) Swallows, and his children: Johnathan Swallows, Della Beck, and Sarah Garman; sister, Teresa Bradberry; niece Crystal Swallows and her children Zachary Swallows and Lacy Leisure, as well as nephews Dustin Cooper, Jessi Cooper, and Nathan Cooper; and Ron’s life was also enriched by his best friends, Larry (Judy) Reagan and Thomas Rayford; his poker family; many cousins and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Menzo and Della (Webb) Swallows; siblings Wendell Swallows, Thelma E. Swallows, Mary (Rick) Cooper and Ninnie V. Phillips; nieces Darla M. Phillips and her twin boys Anthoy James and Justin Allen; grandparents Joe and Thelma Webb and great grandma Sarah Phipps Swallows (Tyler); and his best friends, David J. Shields and Dennis Summers. Ron will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, his hardworking spirit, and the many lives he touched. His memory will live on through those who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
