Ronald Hopkins

December 17, 1954 — April 14, 2023

Yorktown , Indiana

Ronald (Ron) Hopkins 68 yrs old passed at his residence in Yorktown on April 14th after battling a long illness. He passed peacefully at home with his longtime companion Rowana by his side. He was born on 12/17/54 in Detroit, Michigan and raised in West Monroe, Louisiana. Ron served 6 years in the United States Marines. Ron was a self-employed HVAC technician and installer. He spent most of his life servicing and installing furnaces and air conditioners in Muncie, Indiana and the surrounding areas. He loved the challenge of fixing equipment that other people couldn’t figure out, saving his customers money and wouldn’t hesitate to help someone in the worst of weather or the middle of the night. He loved helping people.

Ron often found it difficult to take time off work to enjoy life but when he did it was to fish with his longtime friend Farshad Kousari at Brookville Lake or to Arrowhead hunt. He preferred spending most of his relaxing time at home.

Ron is survived by what he always referred to as “his four girls” Kimberly Hopkins, Kristal Hopkins, Jinet Bell and Jennifer Wallen. He had five granddaughters, four grandsons and two great grandchildren. He is survived by three sisters Linda Dupree, Kathy Greer and Deane Davis. He also is survived by one brother Wade Hopkins. He is preceded in death by both parents Bertha Walker Hopkins, R.T. Hopkins and one brother Brian Hopkins.

His friends and family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life on Sunday May 7th at the Riverside Pavilion in Morrow’s Meadow from 1pm-4pm. Ron’s family wasn’t prepared for the medical and funeral expenses and have started a GoFundMe for those that would like to donate. https://gofund.me/16463692
