Roger Dale Ryker

Roger Dale Ryker passed away on August 20, 2026, in Carmel, Indiana, at the age of 72 after losing his battle with cancer. He was born on June 21, 1954, in Olney, Illinois.

Roger will be remembered with respect and gratitude by those who knew him. He never met a stranger and would spark conversation with anyone he met. Roger built his 30 year career with the City of Fishers as an infrastructure inspector climbing up through the ranks from working for the street department.

He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren Sophia and Kali. He was always tracking Sophia (18) to see where she was spending her time and if she was anywhere close and did not stop by. He enjoyed family vacations and get togethers the most. He did not vacation much as a child but he adapted quickly after his 50 year marriage to Tina and her family. In earlier years, he liked to work in the yard and was always planting something. Today, we have trees that have been planted too close and will need extensive tree trimming work performed.

He is preceded in passing by his parents, Raymond & Neenah of Olney, IL and Helen Goble of Bridgeport, IL. Brothers James Arends of Dekalb, IL, Dennis Ryker of Olney, IL, Garry Ryker of Olney, IL, Margaret Weber of Mr. Erie, IL and Deloris Blackford of Olney, IL

He is survived by his wife, Tina, son Chad and daughter Jamia. Sister Vanessa Wold of Montana and brother Kenny Davis of Missouri. Brother Dean Ryker of Washington and sister Arlene Shepard of Texas. In-laws Linda Stewart of Carmel, Jim Stewart of Avon and niece Presley Stewart of Los Angeles.

He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at City Hall in Fishers on Saturday, October 3rd from 2-4 p.m.
