Robert Mahon

January 16, 1962 — August 7, 2025

Robert (Bob) Terrence Mahon, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer since 2018.

He was born on January 16, 1962, in San Diego, California, a son of Raymond and Anna Mahon. Bob lived in various U.S. States, Japan, and Canada during his father’s Navy career. He graduated in 1980 from Warren Central High School and then continued his education at Lincoln Tech in auto mechanics.

In Bob’s childhood he loved to play hockey and was coached on a team by his father in Carmel, Indiana. During high school he developed a passion for auto mechanics. He had a long, successful career at Blossom Chevrolet as an auto mechanic and a few other dealerships along the way. His generosity extended beyond family and friends, as he was always willing to assist anyone in need with anything, especially when it came to offering his automotive services and knowledge to people that he would meet. In fact, he once missed a wedding ceremony because he stopped to help a stranger that was broke down on the side of the road. He did make it in time for the reception.

Bob was loyal to the Chevy and GM brands and even owned a couple of classics during his life, a 1967 Camaro and a 1970 Monte Carlo. Bob's interests included listening to classic rock music, and some of his favorite bands were KISS and The Eagles. As an uncle, he created memorable experiences with his nieces and nephews, particularly bonding over rock music, concerts, and trips to Karma Records. He enjoyed taking them go-karting and to movies, igniting a shared love for music and adventure. He enjoyed good food, especially a fondness for Chinese cuisine.

Bob is preceded in passing by his father, Raymond H. Mahon. He is survived by his mother, Anna M. Mahon; sister, Carolyn (Doug) Hansen; brother, Richard (Denise) Mahon; nieces, Katie Bennett, Kristen Bennett, and Jaclyn Mahon; and nephew, Jim Bennett.

Bob Mahon’s warmth and kindness will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
