Robert Kimmerling

October 26, 1955 — August 13, 2024

Anderson

Robert “Bob” Eugene Kimmerling, 70, passed away at home on August 13th, 2024. He passed peacefully after a long health battle surrounded by those who loved him most. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend to anyone who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Bob was born October 26th, 1955 in Muncie, Indiana, spent his early years in Frankton, Indiana, and moved to Anderson, Indiana where he graduated from Anderson High School in 1971. He spent his entire career working for the Indiana Department of Transportation in a variety of roles before retiring in 2014.

Bob loved many things in life, none more than his wife and son. Vicki and Cliff came first, always, no matter what. He also loved music and showed it in a variety of ways like seeing his son perform, singing at the top of his lungs in the car with his best friend, Brian, and always quizzing anyone he knew about what song was playing on the radio or television. Additionally, he loved westerns and would have told anyone reading this obituary that if they hadn’t seen Lonesome Dove, well, they definitely should set aside a day to watch it (because it’s 6 hours long!). Lastly, if you knew Bob you knew that he loved the Green Bay Packers just as much as he hated the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. “But what about the Lions”, you may be wondering? He felt too sorry for them to hate them.

Bob is survived by his wife, Vicki Kimmerling, his son, Cliff (Caitlin) Kimmerling, brothers Jack, Steve (Peggy), and Butch Kimmerling as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Additionally, he was survived by David (Michelle) Sizelove and Susan (Ernie) Crowder, whom he considered to be siblings of his own. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Jack and Lillian Kimmerling and two siblings, Sherry-Lynn Kimmerling and Connie Kimmerling.

Out of respect to Bob’s wishes, there will be no service.
