Robert J. Brackin, age 71, of Indianapolis, IN died on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1944 in Indianapolis to the late Paul Brackin and Norma Jean (Brun) McClure.

He loved to fish at Dietz Lake and was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed hunting in the Mitchell, IN area. He was well known in the West Indianapolis neighborhood where he owned and operated the Little Spot Tavern for over 33 years.


He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Angela D. Brackin; daughters, Paula K. (Steve) Smith, Dorie R. Howe, Sherry Brackin and son, Craig A. LaMonte; grandchildren, Amber Stinson, Alishia Brackin, Cody Robbins, Steven Smith and Katie LaMonte; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Byrum and Eric and Evan Stinson; sister, Karen Sue Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Brackin.


Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis, 1604 W. Morris Street. At Mr. Brackin’s request there will be no service. Memorials in Robert’s memory can be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
