Robert Earl Green

Robert Earl Green, 91, of New Palestine, IN, passed away in Indianapolis on May 18, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 19, 1930, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Jasper and Ruby (Merriman) Green. Bob graduated from Warren Central High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Bob worked for the Marion County Sheriff’s department for 41 years, retiring in 2000. He was also the Police Chief for the town of Warren Park. Bob was a member of the Retired Police Officers Association, Indiana Free Mason Millersville Lodge #126 of Indianapolis, IN for 60 years.

Bob married Lela in 1953 and raised 4 children together. Lela passed away in 1985. Bob later married Betty Green, who passed away in 2020.

He loved to be outside working and belonging to the Hoosier Bike Motorcycle Club.

He is preceded in death by both of his wives, mentioned above; and his parents, also mentioned above.

Bob is survived by his children, Dianne Zarvas (Tony) of Carmel, IN, Pam Wire (Terry) of Indianapolis, IN, Beverly Noblitt (Keith) of Seneca, SC, and Dr. Michael Green (Tami) of Chapin, SC; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Per Bob’s request, his funeral services will be private. Bob’s final resting place is Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
