Ricky Allen Taylor

Ricky Allen Taylor, 61, of Anderson Indiana, passed away on February 24th 2024,  after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

Rick was born on August 2nd 1962 to Ernest and Patricia Taylor in Anderson Indiana. After graduating from Frankton High School, Rick pursued a career in HVAC, which he truly enjoyed until his passing .

Rick married the love of his life, Vicky Taylor (Sink) on January 2nd 1983. They spent 34 loving years together before she lost her battle with cancer in 2017. Together they shared 4 wonderful children, Dustin (40), Matthew (36), Tricia (34), Kyle (31). 

Rick’s greatest joy in life was being a Papaw. He was unendingly proud of all 7 grandchildren. They could usually talk him into just about anything with just a single phone call. He cared deeply about each and every one of them. 

Rick loved fishing, hunting, and just about anything outdoors. He loved sports, especially baseball and basketball. He spent many years coaching his son's baseball teams, or cheering them on from the stands. During college basketball season you could usually find him watching IU games and he would happily argue with anyone that thought there was a better team out there. 

Anyone who knew Rick knew that he was a force of nature. He was stubborn, and set in his ways, but you couldn’t deny that he loved his family more than anything in the world.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Patricia Taylor, and his wife Vicky Taylor. He is survived by his children, Dustin Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Tricia (Garry) Eckelbarger, and Kyle (Bailey) Taylor, along with his brother William (Missy) Taylor and sister Agnes ( Russel) Smith. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Keyleigh, Skylar, Meia and Faith Eckelbarger, and Quentin Creel, Aurora and Tamsyn Taylor, along with many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Rick's departure comes as a great shock, and it is gravely felt by the entire family and countless others. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that any flowers, notes, or monetary donations be made to Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services. 

Visitation will be held on March 1st from 2-4pm with a memorial service directly to follow.
