Richard Curtis Stevens, affectionately known as Rick, was a man known for his outgoing and friendly nature, finding joy in socializing with people from all walks of life. His love extended not only to his family and friends but also to his beloved fur babies who held a special place in his heart.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rick's journey on this earth came to a peaceful end in the same city surrounded by his wife and loved ones. Throughout his life, he embraced various interests and hobbies such as fishing, walking and hiking trails, attending car shows, enjoying long car rides, playing pool, savoring a cold beer, building model cars, collecting Hot Wheels, listening to music, and immersing himself in the world of Indy 500 and NASCAR racing. Moreover, tending to his yard brought him immense satisfaction.
Rick's commitment to serving his country was evident through his time in the National Guard from 1980 to 1986, during which he served with honor before being discharged. His dedication to duty was commendable and left a lasting impact on those around him.
In sorrowful reflection on Rick's passing are his loving wife Rena; children Missy, Scotty, and Erica; mother Dianna Fraley; sister Gina Strole and brother-in-law Kevin; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Although he may have departed from this world physically, the memories of Rick's vibrant personality and kind spirit will forever be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
The family has planned to hold a Celebration of Life for all those who knew and loved Rick on May 18, 2024, from 2:00-6:00PM, at the I. P. B. Club located at 2820 Merchant Drive, Indianapolis, 46222.
