Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

Richard (Dick) Dean Garrison, 84, passed away peacefully in Fishers, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Dick was born in 1940 in Monticello, Texas, on his grandparents’ farm. He was the son of Lucille (Narramore) Garrison and Dean Alton Garrison.

Affectionately known as “Dickie,” he grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas where he attended school through high school and actively participated in sports.

Following graduation, Dick attended Durham Business School in Dallas, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. While there, he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, building bonds that lasted a lifetime.

Dick went on to enter the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Training School. Although a hearing deficiency prevented him from becoming a pilot, his dedication never wavered. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, demonstrating the same perseverance and pride that would define every chapter of his life.

Professionally, Dick built a long and fulfilling career in sales, eventually specializing in flooring. His outgoing nature, gift for storytelling and genuine love of connecting with others made him a natural in his field. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember his warm presence and magnetic personality.

Above all, Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared nearly 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marty. Together, they raised three daughters and were blessed with ten grandchildren.

Dick will be remembered most for his warmth, humor, and the deep love he gave so freely to those around him. His stories, laughter, and unwavering heart will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
