Richard "Rick" Fitch

February 11, 1954 — March 17, 2024

Richard Allen Fitch Sr., 70, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on March 17th, 2024. He was born on February 11th, 1954, in Peoria, IL, to the late Clyde and Laura Fitch.


Richard “Rick” Fitch was an extraordinarily talented Culinarian. Richard grew up working in his grandparents' grocery store and assisted his father in the bakery from time to time. Knowing that culinary excellence was in his blood, he completed an apprenticeship and was certified by The Chef’s De Cuisine Association of Indiana. Richard went on to feed hundreds of thousands of guests during banquets and ceremonies. Having worked at Marsh, Crystal Catering, The Indiana Roof Ballroom, and Omni Severin Hotel gave Rick the opportunity to serve some notable people, including John Mellencamp, The Simons’ weddings, Mikhail Gorbachev, The 1992 Men’s US Olympic Basketball team, and various Colts Football teams over the years. Later in life, he went on to start a family restaurant, Old Towne Country Buffet & Grill, with his wife, Irma Fitch, by his side.


Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Laura Jane Fitch, and Father, Clyde Fitch, Sister, Deborah Ann Fitch, and Brother, Charles Vincent Fitch.


Richard is survived by his Wife, Irma Fitch, Daughter, Melissa Fitch (Cole), Sons, Richard Fitch Jr, Christopher., along with many extended family and friends.


There will be a memorial service at 3pm on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a gathering starting at 2pm.
