Richard J Arnold

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Richard J Arnold, a beloved father, brother, friend, and grandfather, who left this world on September 5, 2026. Born on February 6, 1967, in the charming town of Peru, Indiana, Richard lived a life full of love, service, and adventure.

Richard was the cherished son of the late Richard Justo Arnold and Lyla A Aynes. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, William Arnold and Bernice Arnold, and Robert Stafford and Francis Stafford, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Richard's legacy lives on through his devoted children, Holly Arterburn and her husband Casey, and Richard J Arnold Jr. He was the proud grandfather to his delightful granddaughter, Daisie Arterburn, who brought immense joy to his life. Richard is also survived by his dear sister Casie L Thompson and her husband Jay, along with several step-siblings, including Tony Johnson, Jenny Coleman and her husband Rick, Jimmy Aynes, Paula Boze and her husband Tony, and Brandon Aynes and his wife Pam. In addition, Richard leaves behind his "children of the heart," Tiani Tolentino, Brandon Tolentino, Whitley Bright, Willow Bright, Walker Bright, and Taylor Bright. His heart was also touched by the enduring friendship of Nina Ross and Max Ross.

A graduate of Madison Heights High School's class of 1985, Richard embarked on a journey of service and dedication. Shortly after high school, he joined the California Conservation Corps, where he began his path of contributing to his community and his country. Richard served with honor in the United States Marine Corps beginning in 1990, exemplifying courage and commitment until his honorable discharge.

Richard's professional career saw him working as a Semi Driver for the Union Pacific Railroad, where his work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid attendee of Anime Conventions with his son Richard Jr., and they shared many memories working out together at the gym. Richard's happiest moments were those spent with his cherished family and loved ones.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on September 20, 2026, at Rich's House, located at 1120 West 9th St, Anderson, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to gather at 12:00 noon through the day to honor and remember the man who touched so many lives with his kindness and love.

Richard J Arnold will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit of generosity, love, and dedication will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
