Renee L. Caves, age 72, was released from her physical body and went home to the Lord on February 5th, 2026. She was born on April 17, 1953, and was raised in Anderson, Indiana.
Renee was a free spirit — strong, loving, nurturing, and feisty. If she could help someone, she would. She had a gift of listening without judgment.
She loved jewelry, shopping, and animals — especially her African Grey Parrot, Mosie, who she adored. She had a sweet tooth for chocolate, the prettiest hair, and a presence that made people feel at ease. She also loved a clean house and nice bedding- she was boujee at heart.
Renee found joy in the outdoors. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, trips to the dunes, and made wonderful memories visiting her cousin Shirley in California, her sister in Tennessee, and with all of her family and friends. In recent years, she found peace in porch sitting, soaking in the calm moments of life.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Tom) Adams and Jennifer Caves; grandchildren, Drew (Kelsey) McGuire, Ava Kinser, and McKenzie (Zachary) Moody; sisters, Donna Hodson, Stephanie Butterfield, and Melissa (Stevey) Staggs; brother, Chris (Jessica) Slacker; special cousin, Shirley Arney; dear new best friend Sandy from across the hall; Former husband, remained life partner and friend, Steven Caves; Beloved former Daughter-In-Law Angi Kinser; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Kinser; her sisters, Shelia Stephens and Antoinetta Boicourt; and her parents, Phyllis Slack and Viree Stephens.
Renee’s love, strength, and free spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
