Regina Hardison

Regina Hardison, born November 22, 1960, passed away on May 23, 2026, surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Regina was born in Michigan but raised in Indianapolis. Regina was born to James and Betty Burch. She spent the first half of her life in Indianapolis, then in 1994, moved to the tiny town of Stilesville, population: 290.

Regina was a caretaker to several older friends, whom she treated and loved like family. Regina worked at Cooper’s Hardware, Mill Creek Inn, McDonald’s, and Wonderbread over the years.

Regina loved to sit outside, enjoy the sun, and read, loved going out on the water, spending time with her family and friends, and of course yard sales, antiquing, and shopping.

Regina was preceded in death by her father, James Burch, and mother, Betty Burch. She is survived by her daughter, Amber Short; 3 grandchildren, Cameron Short, Chris Short, and Jadyn Short; and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Chavez; sister in life, Cyndi Shepherd Yerden; brother in life, Stephen Shepherd, and their extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2026, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Regina’s family kindly requests a donation to the Humane Society in honor of Regina’s love for animals.
