Randy Smith

Randy Smith, 49, passed away on October 20, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on October 1, 1975, in Muncie, Indiana. Randy was a proud Marine, which helped shape him into the man he became. His passion for serving led him to serve his community and country throughout his life.

Among his favorite ways of serving his community was his Haunted Farmhouse, Halloween was dear to Randy. Through his annual Haunted Farmhouse, he was able to collect thousands of meals for Gleaners Food Bank. His passion for celebrations and helping his neighbors was ingrained in every aspect of his life. Birthdays, holidays, and even weddings were enhanced by his boundless enthusiasm, and willingness to lend a hand.

Randy often communicated through music, there was hardly a song or genre that he did not enjoy. He took pride in always having a new recommendation for those he loved. Sharing his time with loved ones was vital to him, reading with his grandchildren and studying Cherokee with Heidi were among his greatest joys.

Those who had even the briefest interactions with him, had their lives changed. He will be remembered fondly for always having a joke ready for friends and strangers alike, wisdom for those who listened, and a desire to help those who needed it.

His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Heidi Smith; children, AJ (AJ), Dakota (Rachel) Kyndra, Harlie, Chelsey, Cameron, Mckayla (Jeffrey), Keira, Tony & Brandi; his parents, Dan and Patty Smith and Barbara Sampson; sisters, Jody and Heather; brother, Larry; as well as 12 grandchildren and counting. Randy is preceded in passing by his grandparents.

Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
