Ralph Lee Allen

September 30, 1950 — November 17, 2022

Alexandria , IN

Ralph Lee Allen, age 72, passed away November 17, 2022, after a long battle with the aftereffects of Covid-19.

Ralph was born September 30, 1950, at home in Innisdale, Alexandria, Indiana to Ermal J. Allen and Dolly Barth Allen. He attended Alexandria-Monroe HS. He married Jane Clark on December 21, 1968. He lived in Alexandria almost all his life.

He worked for the city of Alexandria for 35 years in almost every department in the city. He retired in 2008 as Assistant Water Superintendent and felt pride in working with the heavy metal equipment and his loyalty to his position. When he retired, his dream was to sit in a lawn chair on a beach somewhere, holding a glass of iced tea. He did make it to the beach, but because of being wheelchair bound, he couldn’t get in the sand.

He loved deer hunting, fishing, and playing volleyball with family and friends. He loved riding motorcycles and four-wheelers, that was a passion in his later years.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; sons Charles Allen and Timothy Allen (Jesse) of Alexandria; and daughter Patrisha Cooper (Mike) also of Alexandria; grandchildren Jeremy Beemer, Matthew Beemer, Haleigh Haulk, Faith Allen, Danielle Allen, Dakota Allen, Stormy Allen, and River Allen; great-grandchildren Breanna Beemer, Charlie Haulk, Kayden Haulk, and Spencer Dole; special niece and nephew Stacey Carrigg and Christopher Carrigg. He is also survived by brothers Larry Allen and Donald Allen and one sister Rosanna Duffitt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred Tucker, and brother Ermel Allen.

There will be no funeral services or visitation. He is to be cremated and his ashes buried right where he was born.
