Pleas Paul Preston Raines, Jr., better known as "Paul," was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on May 14, 2025, at St. Vincent's-Ascension Hospital. Born on December 6, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Paul dedicated his life to his family and his passions, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Paul was a skilled contractor, known for building the home where he and his beloved wife, Myra, raised their children. His strong work ethic and craftsmanship were evident not only in his professional life but also in the beautiful garden he tended with pride, featuring an array of vegetables and flowers that brought joy to his family and neighbors alike.

In addition to his career, Paul was an entrepreneur who owned several tattoo studios. He had a deep fascination with dragon tattoos, a passion that mirrored his adventurous spirit. This love extended to flying remote-controlled planes with his sons, camping, and boating at Lake Monroe, experiences that created unforgettable memories for him and his children. Paul's down-to-earth nature, his keen sense of humor, and warm personality made him a pillar of strength for his family.

Throughout his life, Paul enjoyed spending time with those he cared for, often pulling his kids on an inner tube behind his boat during lively summer outings at the lake. His appreciation for classic television shows such as "Firefly," "Wild Wild West," and "The Beverly Hillbillies," as well as his love for old movies and sci-fi movies, particularly "Star Trek," highlighted his diverse interests and playful spirit.

As a husband for 44 years, Paul was deeply devoted to Myra and looked forward to celebrating their 45th anniversary in September 2025. He was a proud father to five children: Mark Marcum, Chad Johnson, Alan Johnson, Nicole Redmon, and Jennifer Raines. In addition, he was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and devotion. Paul was preceded in death by five of his brothers, and he leaves behind two brothers and a sister, as well as lots of nieces and nephews.

Pleas Paul Preston Raines, Jr., will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the warmth he brought to the lives of his family and friends. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
