Phyllis Flynn

June 25, 1949 — December 27, 2025

Phyllis, a beloved grandmother, passed away surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others. She was one of a kind—creative, caring, and full of imagination.

She also had a camera in her hand wherever she went. Mamaw loved capturing moments of her family, preserving everyday memories and special occasions alike. Thanks to her, so many precious moments were never lost, only treasured.

Phyllis had a deep love for Star Trek and Star Wars, always enjoying stories of adventure, hope, and faraway worlds. At home, her cats were her cherished fur babies, each one loved as part of the family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: sewing with care and patience, painting by numbers, and tending to her garden with a true green thumb. Her sunflowers grew tall and bright, just like her spirit.

Cooking was one of her love languages. She delighted in feeding her grandkids and had a special talent for creating meals straight from their imaginations—turning requests into memories that will never be forgotten.

Phyllis proudly served in the United States Army, a testament to her strength, dedication, and resilience. That same strength carried through every part of her life, whether she was caring for others or quietly creating beauty in her own home.

Phyllis is preceded in passing by her son, Christopher Taylor; grandson, Aryan Taylor; sisters, Patsy Skinner Meek, Terry Wagner Staggs, and Lori Harris Anderson; and brother, Steven Skinner. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Wilma Gene Flynn Gaede; sisters, Jeannie Harris Clearly and Karen Skinner Shumaker; brother, Charles Vance; ex-husband, Garland Taylor; children, Allen Taylor and Charles Barns; grandchildren, Cory Taylor, Christopher Taylor JR, Tuesday Cravens, Charlie Barns the 2nd, and great-grandchildren, Gabby Taylor, Gianna Taylor, Gio Taylor, Everleigh Scott.

Above all, Phyllis will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the stories shared, the traditions passed down, and the love she planted in every heart she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
