Peggy Jean Vanderpool, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to the late John and Nancy Leveline on November 10, 1935, in Hamilton, Ohio. Peggy worked as a secretary at Empro, an electrical shunt manufacturer, for many years until retiring in 2001.
After her retirement, Peggy enjoyed nothing more than playing cards and games with her friends and family. She was an active member of euchre and bridge clubs formed among her friends in the community. She enjoyed spending time with family and with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Nana”. Her humor and lively spirit brought joy to all those around her and who knew her.
Peggy was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great, aunt, and friend. In her passing she is reunited with loved ones preceding her in death: Vicki Vanderpool (daughter); Steven Vanderpool (son); Kabrina Vanderpool (granddaughter); siblings, Bob and Betty, and parents, mentioned above. Peggy is survived by her brother Jim Leveline; daughter Pamela May; grandchildren Kyle May, Kali, Cassidy, and Kenzie Vanderpool, Jason Ochoa; and great grandchildren Jaxon Ochoa and Kole May.
She will be remembered for her kind heart and unconditional love for friends and family.
