Peggy J. Emery

Peggy J. Emery, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 10, 2022.  She was born on May 7, 1953, in Indianapolis to Gordon and Irene (Weddle) Jared.  Peggy graduated from George Washington Community High School in 1971.  She worked as a caregiver for Homestead Senior Care, retiring in 2011.  Peggy is a member of Mt Calvary Evangelistic Center.

Peggy loved to play board games – including Scrabble, Racko and Uno with her grandsons.  She enjoyed any craft she could get her hands on.  The latter part of her time on Earth, she made a lot of bracelets to share with those she loved around her.  Peggy loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and could solve the puzzles quicker that anyone.  She loved people and people loved her!  Peggy made a friend no matter where she was.  She spent her last few months at Waldron Healthcare and Rehab, where she would play Bingo, frequent the auctions and join in on as many festivities as she could, as well as attend church services on Sunday morning.  Peggy loved to sing and read books.  She loved God and wanted others to feel that love as well.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Irene Jared, her youngest son, Robert Emery, and the love of her life and partner in crime: her husband, George N. Emery Jr.

Peggy is survived by her children, Heather Brock (Dwayne), George Emery (Jessica) and Phillip Emery; grandchildren, Elijah Brock, Caleb Brock, Chris Maker, Shawn Maxon, Alex Emery (Lily), Aiden Emery, Anastasia Emery and Norman Emery; great grandson, Kingston Emery; and brother, Michael Jared; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 12noon.  Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
