Paul Otis Wheatley, of Anderson, Indiana, entered eternal rest on October 22, 2025. He was born on March 22, 1963, to Mary and Raymond Wheatley in Anderson, Indiana.
Paul was part of Highland High School’s Class of 1981. He spent his career as a flower delivery driver for Toles in Anderson—a job he seem to really enjoy.
Paul was a musician at heart, especially fond of playing his electric guitars. Over the years, he collected more than 15 guitars and found peace in music. He was also a dedicated gamer, often found enjoying his Xbox—favorites included The Witcher and Doom.
Though Paul liked to keep to himself, he was known for being outspoken, sarcastic, and set in his ways—never one to take any nonsense. Beneath his tough exterior, he had a deep love for his kids.
He is survived by his children Talema Gray, Chris (Glenda) Gray, Shanna (Dillon) Strong, Dustin Wheatley, Harley Wheatley(Amber Daniels); grandchildren Dalton (Maddie) Gray, Brianna (Dom) Brewer, Cameron Brewer, Shasta (Clayton) Frost, James Doty, Makaela Doty, Travis Strong, Skyla Wheatley, Daxton Strong, Grayson Strong, and Za’quora Wheatley; and great-grandchildren Aurora Frost and Kenai Gray. Also surviving are his siblings Mary (Henry) Lamper, Chuck (Debbie) Wheatley, and Jerry (Audra) Wheatley; best friends William Carlson and Kevin Dearing; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul is now reunited with his beloved wife of 38 years, Gladys Wheatley, to continue the unique relationship they shared until her passing in 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Wheatley, and siblings Daryl Wheatley and Darlene Newman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Community Church on November 15, 2025. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm, with a service beginning at 2pm.
Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services is honored to care for Paul and his family. We are thankful to have known Paul, he was the best flower delivery guy around, always offering a smile, kind greeting, and a genuine compliment whenever he delivered flowers here at Legacy. His kindness did not go unnoticed
