Patrick Kirby

March 20, 1963 — January 22, 2026

Patrick Joseph Kirby will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, and for that smile, oh, that beautiful smile!

Pat passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 62, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born on March 20, 1963, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Pat was predeceased by his parents John “Jack” Francis Kirby and Ruth Ellen (Hardin) Kirby.

Patrick was a born entrepreneur. In his early teens he pushed cars struggling in winter snow storms up the Meridian Street/79th Street hill where drivers would hand tips to Pat out of their car windows!

In his late teens he was the first of his friends to have an actual business, a very successful lawn maintenance company that allowed him to buy the coolest car at North Central High School: a 1969 Chevelle SS!

Later in life Pat ran a mortgage company with national reach.

Pat loved animals, especially the dogs he had throughout his life, including his German Shepard (Herman) and Bull Mastiff (Snot) that were by his side when he passed.

Pat loved everything that involved being on or in White River: jet skiing, boating, fishing, long talks on the dock, and yes, even skinny dipping! Patrick was frequently seen standing naked on his deck monitoring the action on the river.

He was cared for in the latter stages of his life so lovingly by Barbara Castello.

Patrick is survived by his sister Jacqueline (Kirby) Collins, her husband, Vincent, and their daughter; brother Terrence “Terry” P. Kirby, his wife, Faith, their 3 children and 4 grandchildren; and his sister Ellen Kirby and her husband, Olvydas Abromavicius.

When the winter thaws and the river warms there will be a Celebration of Patrick’s Life at Daddy Jack’s, then Pat’s dear friends and family will return his ashes to his heaven on earth, we all know where that is.
