Patricia Ann Hester

Patricia Ann Hester, known to her loved ones as Patti, passed away on December 26, 2023, in Anderson, IN. After an extended illness that challenged both her strength and resolve, she peacefully departed this earthly realm surrounded by her beloved family. The loss of Patti leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was born on November 29, 1960, in Roswell, NM. She was the daughter of Donna Rains and Ronald Stricklett. Patti grew up alongside her twin sister Terri Cherry and her sister Millie Hajny (Kevin). She came from a close-knit family that included her grandparents Jasper and Mildred Durbin and Frank and Louise Stricklett.

Patti had a fulfilling life centered around her family. Her proudest accomplishment was being able to stay home with her family and raise her two boys, Steven and Christopher. She poured all her love, care, and dedication into being a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and daughter. Patti’s nurturing nature truly shone through as she devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home for her loved ones.

Despite having a twin sister, Patti amusingly referred to herself as the baby of the family. She cherished spending time with her neighbor Rose, creating cherished memories that brought joy to their lives. Patti was known for being lovable, caring, friendly, chatty, and the life of the party. She could light up a room with her radiant smile and infectious laughter. Patti loved to have a good time and was always the soul of any gathering.

Cats held a special place in Patti’s heart; they were her absolute favorite animals. In fact, some may say she occasionally loved her cats more than anything - even more than her own family! Her fondness for these furry companions brought much happiness into her life. When not showering love on her feline friends, Patti enjoyed playing bingo and bowling with friends who shared in these interests.

Patti is survived by her loving husband, Mark Hester, and their two sons, Steven and Christopher. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Donna Rains, her twin sister, Terri Cherry, and her sister Millie Hajny (Kevin); niece Megan Graham, niece Crystal Karas, nephew Martin Stapleton, nephew Michael Stapleton, niece Jessica Hajny, along with several great nieces and nephews. In addition to immediate family members, Patti leaves behind stepbrother brother Glenn Rains and stepsister Carrie Sherman (Jeff), Kathy Terrell (Tom), her dear sister-in-law, and Dallas and Betty Hester (father and mother-in-law).

She is preceded in death by her father Ronald Stricklett, stepfather Dave Rains,  grandparents Jasper and Mildred Durbin and Frank and Louise Stricklett.

Patricia Ann Hester's legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She brought immeasurable happiness into the lives of her family and friends. It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Patti, but we find solace in knowing that she has found peace in eternal rest. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2024, from 2-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - Anderson.
