Patricia “Trish” L. (Cotton) Gaither; age 88, of Anderson, passed away at her home on August 25, 2023. She was born in Elwood, IN on September 24, 1934, to Elbert Cotton and Louise (Kennedy) Cabe.
Patricia was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She wore many hats throughout her life and held many accolades and accomplishments. Some of her titles include Legal Secretary, notary public, President of the Madison County Federal Credit Union, Leader of Weight Watchers, served on the Anderson Community School Board, volunteered at St. Vincent Anderson and Women’s Alternative, and was a member of East Lynn Christian Church for many years. Though she did many things throughout her community, being a mother and provider for her family was her number one priority. She was resilient, had a huge heart, and her goal in life was to make others happy. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed reading. Her faith was extremely important to her. There are not enough words to describe how incredible Patricia L. Gaither was and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Patricia is survived by her children Cynthia Bailey (Terry), Kirk E. Gaither Sr. (Lori), Ronald K. Gaither, and Katherine L. Jacoby (Brian); grandchildren Zachariah Harvey (Tiffany), Jacob Bailey, Ashley Gaither (Casey Brumfield), Kirk Gaither Jr. (Samantha Paige), and Nathan Woodworth; great-grandchildren Addison Harvey, Carter Harvey, Gunner Brumfield, Fayte Bridwell, Jaiden Paige, Julian Paige, Johdi Paige, and Journi Paige; great-grandchild Layla Grace; sister Karen Cotton Abernathy; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband Loyce R. Gaither, and several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Southern Care Hospice and Dr. David Mares for their compassion and care towards Patricia.
Private services will be held at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson.
