Naomi J. Gard of Indianapolis was born on June 21, 1953, and passed away on January 31, 2026, in her hometown. Naomi was a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family, cherishing every moment spent.
Family was at the heart of Naomi's life. She was the devoted mother to children, Amy Carmichael, Brandi Ladd, Stacy Adams, and Brian Gard, Jr. Additionally, her grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Mariah Carmichael, Cameron Carmichael, Kobey Carmichael, and Joshua Adams, who brought her immense joy and happiness. Naomi was also a proud grandmother of three great-grandchildren, Xander, Zayn, and Rylan.
Naomi's enduring spirit and strong personality were attributes that defined her throughout her life. A homebody at heart, she possessed a stubbornness that allowed her to pursue life on her own terms. found great comfort in her immediate family and close friends, always favoring quality time spent within the confines of home over the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
In her younger years, Naomi embraced the great outdoors with a passion, taking part in a myriad of activities including camping, boating, swimming, and horseback riding. These experiences brought her longstanding joy, particularly when shared with her grandchildren, who vividly recall the laughter and love that filled those precious moments.
As she grew older, Naomi developed a fondness for playing board games, particularly Trouble and canasta. She cherished these gaming sessions with her sister, Mary, and her daughter, Amy. The laughter and warmth shared during these games will be fondly remembered by all who participated.
Naomi is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Amy Carmichael and Brandi Ladd, her son, Brian Gard, Jr., her grandchildren, Mariah, Cameron, Kobey, Joshua, and Chris, as well as her great-grandchildren, Xander, Zayn, and Rylan. She will be sorely missed by her sisters, Mary Forello and Sharon Burns, and her brother, Mark Coovert.
Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Violet Coovert, and her daughter, Stacy Adams. She also mourned the loss of her sister, Becky Coovert, who held a special place in her heart.
A memorial service to honor Naomi's life will be held on February 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services located at 1604 W Morris Street, Indianapolis.
Naomi J. Gard will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, and the many cherished memories she created throughout her journey. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
