Michael Davis McGovern

Michael Davis McGovern was born on October 14, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Ed and Marian McGovern, the second of nine children.

Mike earned his bachelors degree in Mass Communications (TV, radio, broadcast) at Ball State University.

Professionally, Mike was a career civil servant who worked 36 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in an agency called the Natural Resources Conservation Service. He was a public affairs specialist, which included being a photographer, writer, editor, speechwriter, who also developed and led training, among other things.

Michael was preceded in passing by his sister, Tina Hollinger. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patrick McGovern (Carrie) and Meghan Mc Govern (Jeffrey), granddaughters, Ruby, Mira, Evelyn, Lucy, and Ada; brothers, Danny McGovern and Pat McGovern; and sisters, Sandra Funke, Shara Calhoun, Janine Heiny, Linda Hobson, and Jeri McGovern.
