Michael Lowery, born on October 15, 1950, departed this world on July 5, 2026. In the tapestry of his seventy-five years, Michael’s life was woven with spirit, humor, and memory—a proud son of the Westside of Indianapolis, whose laughter echoed warmly among all fortunate enough to know him.
Michael’s early years in Indianapolis shaped the foundation of his character. He was a man who met life with a glint in his eye and a ready joke, embracing each day with an abiding sense of joy. Friends and family alike recall him as “a ladies man,” quick to make others smile and even quicker to find mirth in simple moments. His love of laughter was one of his most enduring qualities, reflecting a genuine warmth that endeared him to many.
A dedicated professional, Michael retired from Maplehurst in Indianapolis, Indiana, after years of steadfast service. His commitment to his work reflected the same care and responsibility with which he approached his relationships and daily life. Retirement afforded him more time to enjoy the companionship of his beloved fur-baby, Coco, whose loyalty and comfort brought light to Michael’s days.
Michael’s circle of cherished ones includes his loving brother, Roy, who continues to hold his memory close. The bond of brotherhood was strong, built on shared childhoods and lifelong camaraderie. Michael’s presence will also be missed by several great nieces and nephews, whose lives are richer for his kindness, humor, and the examples he set. Coco remains a faithful reminder of the gentle heart that once beat at the center of Michael’s world.
In reflecting upon loss, Michael’s family remembers those who journeyed on before him—his mother, Doris Gray, and his beloved wife, Sharon Lowery. Their memories remain interlaced with his own story, threads forever woven into the fabric of family and remembrance.
To honor Michael’s life and legacy, visitation will be held on July 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 1604 W Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Friends and family are invited to gather, sharing sorrow and fond recollection, laughter and tears, as they pay their respects to a man who brightened so many lives.
His journey now complete, Michael Lowery’s spirit endures in the laughter he inspired and in the hearts of those who loved him. May his memory be a gentle comfort, reminding all who mourn him of a life well-lived, rich with joy, and remembered with deep affection.
