Melinda Schuman

Melinda Kaye Schuman, age 57, passed away on Monday, June 24th, 2024, in the home with loved ones surrounding her. Born May 29th, 1967, in Kitty Hawk, NC, daughter of David Lee Burkhardt and Alice Faye Burkhardt. Melinda was a member of Refuge Christian Church. Melinda was an honest, hardworking, loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her father, David Lee Burkhardt, sister, Melissa Lynn Dunn (John), husband, David Lee Wells; two sons, Jordan Lee Schuman, Austin Grant Schuman and wife Hailey Lynn Schuman, and one daughter, Ashley Kara Riggs and husband Alexander Lee Riggs of Indiana; (husbands kids- Jonathan Wells and wife, Laura Wells and Sarah Wells and Jon Jacobi); nine grandchildren, Trinity, Winona, Arya, Carter, Chloe, Isabelle, Wesley, Greyson; nieces and nephews Natasha Hyde (husband Matt), Joshua Hutsell ( wife Kati), Heather Wilson (husband Chris), Erica Selby ( husband Joshua).

Her hobbies included gardening and caring for her chickens. She drove a school bus for the past 15 years. 

Visitation will be held 1:00pm-3:00pm, Friday, June 28th and Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services, in Anderson, Indiana with Pastor Stan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society online at https:www.cancer.org.
