Melanie Annette Turner

Melanie Annette Turner, age 58, of Anderson, passed away on August 12, 2023, at her home. She was born on December 2, 1964, to the late James Newby and Marilyn Purciful.

Melanie was full of life in every sense of the word. She was creative, a real artist, wild and energetic. She was friendly, never met a stranger, and when you needed a mom, she would be that for you. She enjoyed photography, fishing, and gardening. She truly appreciated the small things in life and was always very giving. Being outdoors was her favorite place to be. She was a wonderful mother, grandma, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Melanie is survived by her friend and former husband, William Turner; children Chris Turner, Nikkii Turner (Neil), Amber Short, Tammy Cogswell, Traci Merena (Kelsey), Bridgette Bauman (Lee), Mary Jones (Chris), Shannon Wright (Zach), and Julie Nivens (Kenny); 25 grandchildren; sister Teresa Ramsey; nephew Cory Ramsey.

She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, and children John Turner and Jessica Weaver.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie and Jennifer for their exceptional care and compassion towards Melanie in her final days.

A visitation will be held on Friday August 18, 2023, from 12-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
