Matthew Lewis Hebble

Matt was the son of Leonard Lewis Hebble Jr. and Betty Jane Hudson Hebble, he was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis.

He attended school at St. Phillip Neri, Arsenal Technical High School, and IUPUI.

Matt married Stephanie Hatfield on June 30, 1990, they divorced in 2007. Together they had 5 sons. Jeremy Lewis, Zachary Jacob, Benjamin Douglas, Isaiah Lester, and Joshua Steven. 8 little Hebble grandchildren, Kameron, Ivy, Tegan, Nova, Philo, Zaylee, Lyla, and Iris.

Matt had worked for Marsh Grocery, IUPUI, and Kroger Co. After 32 years with Kroger, he retired in 2021.

Matt is survived by his siblings, Mark (Brenda), Mary (Ron) Williams, D. Timothy, Janet (James) Wood, John (Kathy).

Many nieces and nephews, especially his niece, Katherine who stood in as supporter to Matt and his sons thru many difficult times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and youngest brother Charles Workman Hebble.

He was loved more than he knew. He leaves behind a large family, and many friends. His lifelong best friend, Mike Stockman.

Matt's favorite poem was The Raggedy Man, and often referred to himself as such.

A memorial gathering will be held at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services - 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 2-4pm.
