Matthew Dane Ferguson

January 3, 1973 — March 15, 2023

Anderson, IN

Matthew Dane Ferguson, AKA Wolfsbane, passed away on March 15, 2023, from a life-long illness. He was born in Anderson, IN on January 3, 1973.

He graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1993, leaving an award in music to be given yearly in honor of his name. He was a musician and wrote many songs, played several local bands, and traveled with a band called (Mini-KISS) which made him a “rockstar.” In his down time, he loved to play with Legos and could basically build anything with them. Matt had a deep love for wolves, so when you see a full moon, remember to listen for his “howl.” He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Willie Ferguson, brother Marc E. Ferguson, nephew Daniel L. Colton III, grandparents Orville and Bernice Ferguson, Willie and Fannie Kates, step grandfather Arthur Smith, several aunts, Betty Haines, Mary Henshaw, Barbara Kates, Marilynn Eldridge, uncles Harvey Kates, Donel Hunt, Don Haines, Michael Ferguson, Larry Ferguson, brothers-in-law Christopher Harvey and Ronald Wade Miller, several nieces and nephews.

Matthew is survived by his siblings Mitchell Ferguson (Shawnna Kozik), sisters Cynthia J. Harvey (widowed), and Angelita Ferguson-Stinson (Shea); nieces Belinda Colton (Daniel), Melody Ferguson, Brandy McCarty, Megan Masters; nephews Nick James and Trevor Ferguson, Gunner Masters; several great nieces and nephews; his ex-wives Melinda Smith of Anderson and Steffanie Yoder Ferguson of New Castle.

There will be a Celebration of Life to be held on March 31, 2023, at the Anderson Eagles Fraternal Order, starting at 6pm.
