Mary "Katie" Means

Mary Katherine Means (Katie) age 36 passed away all too soon at her home in Brown County on May 28, 2024.

Mary was born on September 26, 1987, in Indianapolis Indiana, she was the daughter of Catherine and William Mefford both of Brown County.

Mary graduated from Brown County High School in 2006, after she attended International Business college where she earned a degree in travel and hospitality. After 10 years in that field, she decided to go back to college, attending IU in Bloomington for computer science. 

Mary was a lover of astrology and art. She loved to paint and throw pottery on her wheel. She also had a love for flowers and plants and found peace in the solidarity of being outside. 

She is survived by her mother, Catherine Mefford, stepfather William Mefford, sister Elizabeth Means, and her only niece Dellta.

She's proceeded in death by her grandparents Florence and Harold Means who she will be placed next to. 

In 2017 she lost her high-school sweetheart and life partner John Harris. 

Graveside service will be held in Indianapolis, at a later date.
