Marvin A. Short, 85, passed away on July 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 27, 1938, in Celina (Clay County), TN to Albert and Dora E. (Boles) Short.

Marvin retired from General Motors (Delco Remy) after 35 years of service. He bowled for many years on a Delco Remy bowling league as well as for the Moose Lodge. He loved to play cards and enjoyed going to the casino. Marvin loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching them play sports and also taking them to Dale Hollow in the summertime.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Vera “Joyce” (Epperly) Short, daughter Martina Wright (Fiancee Jim Fisher), daughter-in-law Nina Jenks of Beach City, TX., grandchildren Amber Short and Tyler Short of Houston, TX. Danielle Albano and Tyler Albano of Anderson., great-grandchildren Aadan Dillon, Aariana Dillon, Arian Albano, and Maralah Short of Houston, TX. He is also survived by brother-in-law Alfred (Janet) Epperly of Anderson and sister-in-law Mildred Short of Celina, TN., as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Rocky, grandson Tony, 8 brothers, Maxey, James, Andrew, Lufford, Shelby, Edward, Billy, and Joe: 5 sisters Ola Walker, Lola Boles, Rose Driskell, Thelma Arline, and Kate Short.

The family would like to thank Dr. Troy Abbott, and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Marvin, and a very special person in his life, Melanie Strong.

Per Marvins request, there will be no service and his ashes will be scattered at Dale Hollow Lake.
