Marty K. Nichols passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on September 16, 1963, Marty dedicated his life to being a hero and protector, teaching his family the true meaning of love and strength. He was not only a devoted husband but also a phenomenal father to four daughters, instilling in them the values that would shape their lives.
For 30 years, Marty served as a semi driver and never experienced an accident throughout his career. Marty was passionate about his hot rods, taking great pride in working on them. He often sought his daughters’ opinions on his latest updates.
His commitment to his family was evident in everything he did. Many cherished memories were created during late-night trips to Steak 'n Shake, enjoying chili and milkshakes late into the night. Always equipped with his pack of Marlboro light 100s and a can of Coca-Cola, Marty had a delightful way of sharing his favorites, offering his daughters the first sip. That was who he was. Giving, thoughtful, and full of love in the smallest detail.
He loved playing the guitar and banjo, imparting musical knowledge to his daughters by teaching them guitar chords.
Marty was notoriously not a morning person. His ideal weekend was spent watching NASCAR, football, and basketball, cheering for his favorite teams.
Marty met his wife in seventh grade, where he captured her attention as the charming blond walking through the school halls. They were destined to reconnect later in life, marrying and nurturing a family that would celebrate the essence of who he was - a phenomenal dad.
Marty is survived by his devoted wife, Anita Nichols; four daughters, Peggy Nichols, Stephanie (Anthony Keith) Nichols, Sabrina Nichols, and Katrina Nichols; and eight grandchildren, Miya, Josiah, Anthony, Elijah, Ju’Leah, America, Alfred, and Grayson; mother, Ruby; brother, Rick (Lena) Nichols; and sister, Lisa. He is preceded in passing by his father, Emna Erston Nichols.
Visitation for Marty will be held on November 19, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Lawrence location in Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 PM on the same day. His final resting place will be Washington Park East Cemetery. Life will never be the same without Marty, but his spirit will endure in our memories and the stories we tell.
